Yesterday our family had its second chance to participate in the great Amsterdam Middle/High School Lottery. Raj’s list of schools ended up being fairly similar to Axa’s, with a few tweaks. Here it is, straight off the link they sent us with instructions to check it at exactly 15:30 on April 4 to find out what his lottery number would be, and in which school he would be placed:

Househunters International – Amsterdam Edition

Househunters International – Amsterdam Edition

Our amazingly cool friends, Sarah and Aaron Zipp, were featured on Househunters International this week. We got to watch their episode from their couch in the very apartment they chose during the show. Our kids even got a cameo at the end as part of a scene where they demonstrate a caber toss during Highland Games in the park.

It was even more fun to watch the Zipps in their show, since we are presently engaged in our own version of Amsterdam househunting. Expat Education

For me, educational theory is both an interesting hobby and a practical concern. Our children go to Dutch school now, and I’ve blogged a fair amount about choosing a bilingual primary school in Amsterdam for them, and also about helping my daughter choose a Dutch middle/high school (it’s an involved process here, and not a simple matter of zip code).
